Chloé is one of the world’s premier high-fashion maisons. Known for their delicate-luxe femininity, the brand has been creating beautiful ready-to-wear collections since 1952.
Remaining at the top of the fashion hierarchy, Chloé is well-renowned for their boho-chic luxury designs embodying modern femininity.
Gaby Aghion, the original Chloé founder and creative director, was born in Egypt in 1921 and later moved to Paris in 1945. Her vision was to present luxury ready-to-wear fashion to the world, rejecting the 1950s fashion norms. Instead, Aghion decided to design and create a unique line of high-quality clothing from luxurious fabrics which she called ‘luxury prêt-à-porter’. This translates to ‘luxury ready-to-wear’.
Today, we’re no stranger to Ready To Wear, and Chloé continues to be at the forefront of design through the use of incredible materials, feminine silhouettes and playful embellishment - all hand-finished elevating each piece to an unrivalled level.
The Chloé Autumn/Winter sunglasses collection follows these same principles. The 2021 eyewear collection combined luminous materials treated with elaborate craftsmanship resulting in a curated selection of sunglass and optical frames. Together, they extend the feminine beauty and strength at the heart of Chloé.
A grounded, liberated attitude vibrates through the iconic shapes featured in this Fall release. Developed with bold volumes and exquisite customisations, the brand has combined delicate contours and innovative constructions that allow each frame to represent everyday elegance with captivating details and bright finishes.
Each detail of these sun frames enhance the season’s sophisticated feel balanced with an air of nonchalance. Chloé uses whimsical colour palettes spanning from the vibrant and harmonious, shifting to warm natural hues which make-up shades and vivid rainbow blends.
This unique duality of glamour and grace has also inspired the frames’ poetic names including the Sofya, Tayla and Lahya.
The Sofya
The Sofya styles are embellished with precious bejewelled accents: a chic chloé-engraved C as a mark of distinction and a small drop pearl [these details are detachable]. The lenses of the Sofya Sunglasses feature a reverse gradient hue which blends perfectly together in a range of autumnal colours. The temples and end tips further compliment this design with coloured acetates creating a havana enamel profile for the frame. Carefully considered, the Sofya marries these features together enhancing the oversized proportions of the frame, elevating the overall chromatic impact.
The Sofya comes in three semi-rimless shapes including a round oversized frame, a narrow square frame and a large angular butterfly frame.
Intense in hue, the new Tayla shapes feature intricate inlays filled with coloured enamel, providing an edgy tone-on-tone effect along the bevelled lenses. Coming in both a generous round silhouette and a modernised butterfly silhouette, these sunglasses are both set with a gold-tone bridge and tiny rivets for increased radiance. The sun frame is further complemented with coloured end tips in both pale pink, ivory and baby blue. Unfortunately, The Tayla style is now out of stock.
The irreverent soul of the Lahya sunglasses is rendered through 2D bubble lenses in varying colours, crowned with thin metal piping and offset with soft-touch silicon temples. This is a new pentagonal shape with an upbeat twist that nods to the joyful tints of a rainbow.
The new Chloé Fall/Winter eyewear collection conveys a renewed sense of lightness and refinement, elevating the maison’s couture codes in a rare mix of retro allure and contemporary appeal.
