Tiffany Glasses are arguably the world’s most iconic jewellery brand. Tiffany, dates back to 1837. Established by 25-year-old Charles Lewis Tiffany and his friend John B Young, the pair opened a small stationery store in New York City with $1,000 from Charles’ father. Located on Broadway, the store quickly became the go-to emporium for fashionable ladies in search of stationary, jewels and timepieces. Tiffany’s had a clean American style that was remarkably different from the opulent styles of the Victorian era.
They were the first American company to adopt the British silver standard - using metal that was 92% pure - and in turn, they received international recognition. Tiffany Glasses & Co won the grand prize for silver craftsmanship at the 1867 World’s Fair in Paris. But it wasn’t until 1878 that Tiffany’s became associated with finest diamonds in the world - after acquiring an astonishing 287.42ct rough fancy yellow diamond from the Kimberley diamond mines in South Africa, Tiffany cut this into a 128.54ct polished gem, with 82 facets which maximized the sparkling fire within the precious stone, the diamond was set into a necklace worn by Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany’s.
This yellow gem was named the Tiffany Diamond, and it cemented the brand’s reputation as the ultimate luxury destination for jewellery.Tiffany & Co's optical collection is the epitome of luxury, taking inspiration from the glistening and glowing brand heritage, each frame is soft, striking and feminine.
Tiffany glasses are jewellery-inspired with unique embellishments that create an almost fairytale-like sense of romance, with dainty charms and temple detailing. Tiffany's signature blue colour features heavily throughout the collection - predominately on the inside leg of the mostly acetate collection. Your Tiffany glasses will subtly let everyone know that they are unmistakably Tiffany.
