Paris Haute Couture Week stands apart from the regular fashion calendar as the most exclusive expression of fashion at its highest level. Unlike prêt-à-porter, which is designed for seasonal production and high-end retail, haute couture is built on singularity; one-of-a-kind garments crafted by hand, often requiring hundreds of hours of atelier work and multiple private fittings in Paris.
Clients are few, discreet, and deeply committed, travelling repeatedly to couture houses to perfect pieces that exist nowhere else. The clientele spans royalty, collectors, philanthropists, and global tastemakers, all drawn to fashion as art rather than commodity. While couture runways rarely feature eyewear by design, the attendees, from celebrities to these famously private clients, never miss the opportunity to arrive shielded behind statement sunglasses, turning entrances and front rows into their own style theatre.
Day 1 – 26 January
Opened with an illustrious lineup including Dior, Schiaparelli, Georges Hobeika, Tony Ward, and more.

Rihanna, fresh from multiple New York sightings earlier this month, arrived in Paris to witness Jonathan Anderson’s highly anticipated debut for Christian Dior Haute Couture. She wore an all-black ensemble punctuated by black Dior sunglasses from the Spring/Summer 2026 collection.

Also at Dior was Sunday Rose, the model daughter of Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban, who attended in a sleek leather jacket paired with tortoiseshell Miu Miu MU A06S 14L09Z sunglasses; an undeniable it-girl moment in the making.

Lauren Sánchez attended the Schiaparelli show in gold Quynh sunglasses from Linda Farrow with striking ruby red lenses.

While Jeff Bezos accompanied Mrs Bezos wearing his signature Garrett Leight Van Buren II sunglasses with green lenses.

Top fashion blogger Bryanboy arrived at Schiaparelli in a dramatic leopard-print coat, finishing the look with black Saint Laurent SL 832 001 sunglasses; perfectly judged for the house’s surrealist codes.

Fellow attendee Valentina Ferragni opted for black Versace VE4370 half-moon sunglasses, a now-discontinued favourite.

Music icon Damon Albarn of Blur and Gorillaz sat front row at Dior wearing dark tortoiseshell Ray-Ban Wayfarer Ease RB 4340V 2012 optical glasses.

Also at Dior show, Pharrell Williams remained loyal to his maison in tortoiseshell Louis Vuitton Heritage Square sunglasses.

Fashion insider Derek Blasberg arrived at Dior in tortoiseshell Prada PR A16S 14O60F Photochromic sunglasses.

At Tony Ward, Tunisian model and actress Rym Saidi wore black Bvlgari Serpenti BV40031I sunglasses, available via special order.

Turkish content creator Merve Görgöz was spotted at Georges Hobeika in black Ray-Ban RB 4441D 6677/87 sunglasses.

After attending Schiaparelli, Valentina Ferragni switched things up for Georges Hobeika, opting for a more daring look finished with black Gucci GG1680S 001 sunglasses.
Day 2 – 27 January
Paris Haute Couture Week continued with presentations from Chanel, Giorgio Armani Privé, Gaurav Gupta, Stéphane Rolland, and more.
Name two ultimate Chanel muses more undeniable than Nicole Kidman and Penélope Cruz. The screen icons both appeared in black sunglasses adorned with the double-C logo in mother-of-pearl, with Cruz opting for a gradient-lens version, a design exclusive to Chanel.

Paris rain did little to dampen couture spirits, as guests continued to deliver standout style. Claire Foy embraced rich brown tones, pairing her look with ruthenium CHANEL 4293 C360/3 sunglasses fitted with brown lenses, available now on Pretavoir.

Actress Zhou Xun, a familiar presence at recent Chanel couture shows, sat front row in our favourite black-and-red CHANEL 5416 1794/S8 cat-eye sunglasses; the very last piece currently available on Pretavoir.

Recently appointed as Chanel’s first male ambassador under the Matthieu Blazy era, A$AP Rocky stayed true to his own lane, opting for Ray-Ban rather than the house. As the brand’s creative director, he wore the Ray-Ban Mega Wayfarer RB 0840S 901/31, bringing a confident, contemporary edge to the couture front row.

French model Mara Lafontan was a vision as she attended the Stéphane Rolland show, wearing Portia aviator sunglasses by Linda Farrow.
Day 3 – 28 January
The extravaganza continued in the City of Lights with presentations from Valentino, Elie Saab, Alexis Mabille, Viktor&Rolf, and more.

Lisa Rinna arrived at the Viktor & Rolf show wearing black Tom Ford Leona-02 TF1365 01A sunglasses; the same style her daughter Amelia Gray Hamlin wore to the GQ Men of the Year Awards 2025.

She later switched to a bolder orange-and-black look for the Robert Wun show, pairing it with Dior MissDior B1U H4A0 cat-eye sunglasses, a beloved model that has since been discontinued.

Also attending Viktor & Rolf, Filipina actress and former Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach Jauncey wore tortoiseshell Saint Laurent 596 Dune sunglasses with green lenses. While this colourway is now discontinued, the model is still available in black and tortoiseshell with light brown lenses.

Spanish model and television host Nieves Álvarez, who walked for Stéphane Rolland on the second day, attended Elie Saab wearing black Bvlgari Serpenti Viper BV40068I 01A oval frames.

Poppy Delevingne arrived for Elie Saab in the best-selling Saint Laurent Sun SL 276 Mica 001 cat-eye sunglasses.

Swedish actress and model Victoria Silvstedt was also present for Elie Saab, wearing black CHANEL 5546Q 1608/S6 sunglasses.

Fashion and couture week veteran Tamara Kalinic wore black Bottega Veneta BV1274S 002 aviator sunglasses with yellow lenses to witness the Elie Saab presentation.

Slovenian fashion influencer Maja Malnar also opted for the Bottega Veneta BV1274S 002 shades at Elie Saab.

Lily Allen arrived at Valentino in head-to-toe latest creations of Alessandro Michele, finishing the look with retro-inspired heptagonal sunglasses in tortoiseshell.

Águeda López, Spanish model and wife of Puerto Rican singer Luis Fonsi, attended the Alexis Mabille presentation wearing Celine Metal Triomphe CL40235U 28E sunglasses with brown lenses.
Day 4 – 29 January
The final day closed with presentations from Ashi Studio, Phan Huy, Celia Kritharioti, Germanier, and more.

Filipina actress, model, and philanthropist Heart Evangelista attended Celia Kritharioti show wearing black Saint Laurent SL 731 GASPAR 001 sunglasses with light blue lenses.

Following her denim outing on day three, Pia Wurtzbach Jauncey appeared cosy in white fur, paired with black Saint Laurent Sun SL 567 001 shades for Ashi Studio show.
With couture presentations (almost) complete, attention naturally shifts to the details seen beyond the runway. This season, sunglasses quietly defined entrances, exits, and front-row moments, a reminder that even in the rarefied world of haute couture, style often lives in the finishing touches.
We’ll see you next season, back in Paris, for more front-row fashion and unforgettable celebrity eyewear moments.
Au Revoir,
PRET A VOIR
