Missoni

Missoni logo

Founded in 1953 by Ottavio and Rosita Missoni, the brand emerged from a small knitwear workshop in Gallarate, Italy. Their first collection under the Missoni label debuted in Milan in 1958, swiftly gaining support from fashion editor Anna Piaggi.

The brand's ascent continued with a groundbreaking show at the Pitti Palace in Florence in 1967, where a sheer lamé blouse controversy left an indelible mark. Despite not being invited back the following year, Missoni's trajectory soared, marked by Diana Vreeland's endorsement in American Vogue and the opening of a Missoni boutique in Bloomingdales. The 1969 establishment of a new factory in Sumirago solidified their growth.

Infused with Italian aesthetics and craftsmanship, Missoni eyeglasses epitomise luxurious design with impeccable silhouettes and meticulous attention to detail. From sleek minimalist frames to vibrant, bold designs, the eyewear collection mirrors Missoni's dedication to creativity and innovation.

This commitment to excellence extends beyond fashion, echoing the brand's evolution into projects such as designing costumes for La Scala, carpets, and tapestries. Missoni eyewear, like its core knitwear, represents a fusion of tradition and contemporary style, offering wearers a unique expression of sophistication and individuality.
