Today, Julbo Sunglasses remain uncompromising in its mission to protect the eyes of mountain sportspeople however their expertise have expanded to create eyewear for all epic adventures from track and trail running to mountain biking. Jules Baud, a Jura native, started his business designing optical eyewear with one idea in mind: innovation. When he created Jublo in the early 20th century, he focused on eye-protection for mountain hunters, this design was called the 'Cristalliers'. This was the start of Jules lifelong endeavor to create optical sun protection story.

Since then, Julbo have went above and beyond simply naming their products after famous summits such as Everest, Makalu and Annapurna. The brand develop and thoroughly test each design by taking them up the likes of Mount Everest, Makalu, K2, Gasherbrum ii Broad Peak and Nanga Parbat... Performance is followed by style, in the 1990s Jublo started to experiment with fluorescent colours which enhanced the wearer's visibility meanwhile being fun and full of energy.
