An Exciting Array of New Collections Coming Soon...
Silmo is one of the biggest annual global eyewear events and we were delighted to attend again this year.
On arrival at the Parc des Expositions at Paris Nord Villepinte, we were immediately struck by the scale of the event. Stalls and excited visitors as far as the eye could see, we couldn't wait to see the products on offer.
We first had an appointment with our representative at Dita Eyewear. Their stall was enclosed and exclusive, giving a very luxurious feel. We were warmly welcomes and we proceeded to view the new collections of Dita, Thom Browne and Christian Roth.
One of our favourite pieces is shown below, a signature Dita front but with chunky arms. It has a beautiful titanium finish with stunning brown gradient lenses.
When we had finished viewing and purchasing the new collections, we had a short period of time to look around the event and we then headed into the centre of Paris to our hotel. We were very lucky to be staying in Hotel Parister on Rue Saulnier, a short walk from the nearest Metro station and within easy travelling distance of all of the main attractions.
The staff were extremely welcoming and took us to our rooms, they even offered a tour of the hotel prior to going to the room!
For the evening we dined in a local restaurant near the hotel called Le Régent on Rue La Fayette. It was understated but had delicious traditional French cuisine and exceptional waiting and bar staff. It was very popular with the locals and definitely worth a visit for an authentic experience.
In the morning we were taken to visit Thélios for purchasing brands such as Celine, Kenzo, Fred and Loewe. They are situated in a gorgeous Parisian townhouse on Rue Jean Goujon and have a museum-like interior with works of art displayed throughout.
We were shown the new collections and we were very impressed by the attention taken and quality applied during the manufacturing process. Some of our favourites by Celine and Loewe are shown below.
By the afternoon we had finished and we were gifted a lovely Louis Vuitton gift bag containing a guide book for the city of Paris. This helped us to have a busy afternoon viewing the sites in the city before heading to the airport for our late flight home
Au Revoir,
PRET A VOIR
